The search for the right tree

Yesterday, we went to the site to stake out where our build will be, and let me tell you, it wasn’t what we expected. With people finding snakes and getting bitten by ants and mosquitoes, it’s safe to say not to bring shorts and low-heeled shoes. Having to measure inside the woods was also not fun and stressful.

Kylee is in the woods.

After we figured out the location of the site’s first column, we had to triangulate and keep the rulers straight, which was a struggle with the straight lines.

Triangulating the posts.

Doing this was fun once we figured out how to do it, but it turns out we are too close to the tree line and the property line, so we need to move all the posts to a more northeast location.

After this, we went to get burgers and then went to the woodshop to do a mockup of a wall design for the pivoting walls.

It turned out to be a really fun experience. We figured out how to bend steel, and I got to weld the frame together and grind it.
