Every kids dream… Field Trips. Yesterday we journeyed up to somewhere in North Charleston. Our goal: look at some wood.
We had been invited to visit Tropical Pro, a lumber distributor and also where we will be sourcing our thermally modified decking. While there we got to meet Brian and Brian. They gave us a short speech about the different types of tropical lumber they supply as well as their uses, construction, and treatment processes. We passed around a few samples(this helped us understand how the deck will actually be assembled) and then headed off into the warehouse.
Brian and Brian gave us a tour of the storeroom stashed full of all sorts of tropical lumber. They continued to explain and answer questions about how to design/build our decking. This simultaneously alleviated and created more concerns. Once our tour was completed we moved onto the sample section of the warehouse, where we were encouraged to partake in some samples. We partook.
