Culminating Designs

After the client presentation last Friday, the weekend was taken to passively think about the future of the project. No pen to paper necessary, but everyone was tasked with maintaining a constant buzz of thoughts concerning the feedback received for each small design. When meeting on for class time Tuesday, Studio V met as a whole and garnered a pro’s and con’s list in relation to each of the three small group designs from last week. After disseminating our thoughts across the studio about the past designs, we began to talk about culminating the positive aspects together for the future design. Moving forward we aim to work individually, loosely, and fast to bring all ideas to the table.

Creating the pro’s and con’s list between the past small group designs

Excitingly, from spatial programming, to structural methods, construction methods, and site placement; each past project has features that are informing the future design. Ideally the culminating process will work fluidly, with egos and past attachments to personal work left outside the studio, so the project may take on the natural life form that fits the site. With the current reading “The Speed of Trust” coinciding with this phase in the studio project, now more than ever should we as studio members be ready to work in unison rather than competition. There is excitement in the air for this process and we are forward to what Studio V’s collaboration will produce.
