Happy Wednesday and congratulations for making it half way through the week! Studio V has kept busy these past few days and getting our site ready for some concrete. Yesterday, we spent our studio at Olde Town Creek with a truckload of dirt. Shovel, rake, tamper, and repeat. While in the moment, it didn’t seem like much progress was being made, at the end of the day, we have an almost level site that is ready for some footings to be dug and rebar to be placed. We called in a favor to some of the other people working on the site to bring in some reinforcements. They were able to use their heavy machinery to speed up our process of leveling the site.

While all of that was going on, Chloe and Griffin have been tackling tying the rebar pieces that are apart of the longer turndown slab so that when the hold is properly dug, it’ll be much faster to place the rebar.

With there being a slight hiccup with the permitting office (nothing to be too concerned about), we are going to start studio tomorrow in the shop where we’ll be welding and starting to get our cut lists in order. This will hopefully allow us to already have a majority of the wood and steel cut and ready to be assembled on site so the framing process goes quickly. Over the next few times we come to site, we’ll place the wooden concrete formwork that we build this past Saturday into place, dig the footings, place the rebar, and pour some concrete! Stay turned… Until next time, keep digging.
