Good morning and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend and feel rested and excited for the week! I am starting this week slightly sore because…. no big deal or anything BUT WE ARE STARTING TO BUILD! Last week we started laying out the site and we also got all of the rebar bent for the foundation!!!!!
We received our permit at the end of the week and hope to pour concrete mid-week. Our build has gone mostly smooth but I do not want to jinx anything! David got us equipment to help bend the rebar which has made the process a lot easier! I know the previous classes will be upset and jealous to hear that we don’t have to do it by hand….. but because we have thicker rebar it was a need.
My kind boyfriend took drone photos on Saturday as we worked and they are really neat! It has been so rewarding to see the progress in just a couple of days and I feel so motivated going into this week. It has been such an educational experience to see the drawings I have worked on become real built things. Making all of the cuts and bends ourselves has been an awesome experience and I have learned so much already about how things are put together on site during the construction process. Building is truly an amazing and beautiful thing.
