This weekend I went to tour the Southern Living Idea Home for 2024 – located on Johns Island near a farm. The home is in a brand new neighborhood that is still under development and it definitely sets a precedent for how beautiful the neighborhood will be!
Walking up to the home, my favorite part was the front railing. It felt unique, traditional, and a little bit Victorian which is not typical for a costal home.
My favorite overall design choice was the decision to carry the wallpaper to the ceiling in majority of the rooms.
My favorite room in the whole house was the upstairs den. The color palette was mauve, burgundy, with a hint of light turquoise in the accents. The room felt so inviting and cozy and a perfect place for drawing or reading.
Overall, the attention to detail in the craftsmanship of this home was so incredible and that was great to see as an aspiring architect.
Lastly, Some inspiration for our fireplace at the Old Towne Creek County Park Pavilion!
