Eclipse! Meetings! Birthdays! Bugs!

This week is a really exciting week for our studio!  We started off Monday by meeting on site for our project with Charleston County Parks, prepared with our eclipse glasses. We met with multiple members of the staff to get better insight into our small group designs and what they liked and what they didn’t like for our final designs.

The meeting was really insightful and it was awesome to be back on the site and see our models sitting on the site, it really helped us gain a better understanding of lighting conditions and circulation patterns to our pavilion. During the meeting, our site got progressively darker for the eclipse and it become full totality right at the end of the meeting!

The rest of this week will be very busy because on Wednesday our studio will travel to Savannah, GA for a field trip and to explore the city. I am really excited because I am from Hilton Head, which is very close to Savannah so I know it well and I am excited to explore it even more with my classmates. We also will be officially starting the final design of the pavilion and will be navigating a new challenge of working as a group of 10 today and through the next 3 weeks!

Also wanted to shout out Chloe because yesterday was her birthday! She is our class assistant and does so much for us as a studio and works so hard! Happy Birthday Chloe! And today is also my dad’s birthday as well! Happy Birthday Dad! Love you!
