Monday’s Meetings to Friday’s Formwork

Happy Friday! Oh what a week it’s been. Let’s recap…

Monday started strong with some non-profit partnership work. I met with Rebekah over at Ripple, conveniently located on the ground floor of the Cigar Factory. The Ripple Fund is an awesome non-profit that provides a workspace used as an ‘incubator space’ for non-profit leaders in our community. I’m working with Ripple to try to fix some of their sound issues in their lively space as well as some digital work with their app.

Tuesday and Wednesday were studio days where we dove head first into individual designs. We divided up the different site locations, strategies, and programs between the ten of us to get as many different design iterations to talk through and share with our client next week.

Thursday was one of my favorite days… book club! We tried a new spot and met in the outdoor area between Rancho Lewis and Edmund’s Oast and discussed the two books we finished up this week, Let My People Go Surfing and Raising the Bar. Here we are, deep in discussing, ignoring the bugs, and enjoying the beautiful Thursday afternoon.

Today, Friday, we are finally getting on site at Singleton! The city has been working these past two days to dismantle the smaller roof and shelter and starting to break up the old slab. This afternoon, we’ll likely start laying the formwork for the concrete to be poured hopefully soon!

We’ve got a lot going on over here so stay tuned…
