MURAL MURAL on the wall

(above is an elevation view of what the mural will look like resting in-between the two column bays)

With the PLI approaching quickly, the crew has been preparing the CDCC for the event. The studio has broken up into teams. The first one cleaning up around the center and woodshop. The second working towards making name tags. And me in a solo party designing a collaged wall mural. This mural is a collection of images, student work and models from all departments of the CDCC (MRUD, MSHP, & CACC). The collection of student work and images where arranged on a grid of 6″x6″ squares. The empty space between the images will be occupied with models from all programs. This mural is planned to be mounted on gator board and stacked allowing for the 2D elements to read with a depth.

In addition, to designing the mural. I have been setting up InDesign files for posters that will be displayed in the entrance to the center. These 7 boards highlight each program as well and will be mounted on the existing boards in the hallway.

Next steps will be printing out the boards and mural. We plan on using a laser to set up a grid to ease the arrangement of boxes. The next major thing to tackle will be figuring out how we will be stacking the layers of the collage to give the 2D images depth. Stay tuned!!!
