Exciting progress is being made on the build. With our concrete pours complete, the studio has shifted back into the shop to continue preparing the wood and steel of the pavilion for installment. Welders are welding, woodworkers cutting, and, at last, painters are painting.
Through a process of analyzing precedent structures that use a green roof system, we searched for an appropriate color palette. Being attracted to creating something that did not feel like something artificial or like “high architecture”, we found ourselves eyeing the use of greens and natural-tone stains. The use of these colors work with the already existing natural colors of the site to create a quieter piece of architecture, a place of relaxation and memories.
After juxtaposing materials and colors, we settled on a historic green that invites, excites, and embeds you, the neighbor.
