10 Heads Are Better Than 1

It’s hard to believe this is the sixth week of school. We have been through research and two cycles of designs so far.  Tomorrow is the beginning of our final stages of design and there are still a thousand possibilities. The three designs from yesterday’s review had different strengths and weaknesses so it will be interesting to see what gets pulled into the final design.  There are so many things that we have to consider as we design something that is actually going to be built. The design should have a big impact on the community and direct them to the Halsey Institute but, because it is a temporary design, its construction and deconstruction should have a minimal impact on Marion Square. The design needs to be practical and safe for anyone who encounters it, but also needs to be interesting enough to draw people in. It is a lot to think about but my favorite part of this project is that we have ten students that will work together to come up with one design. A design that represents the Halsey Institute, ZanFanga and that we can be proud to build in Marion Square.
