Today, my friends, is a great day

For those of you who have been keeping up with the StudioV blog, you have probably picked up on the fact that we simply cannot get anything right. Every step of our building process has been riddled with setbacks, mistakes, stitches, and the like that have resulted in pushing our projected review date back. But with this is mind something wonderful has happened.

There were 156 steel louvers that were supposed to be complete over an entire weekend. We did it in an afternoon. Magic? Fate? I’m not sure, but I really can’t explain how happy I was when we took all the steel to Corrine Jones Park, and get this, they fit. This was the first time during this entire grueling process that StudioV had to complete a task: just once. And as if this wasn’t enough.. Today, as fate would have it, marks the beginning of a 5-day break that I feel like I’ve been waiting my entire life for.  Today is a great day.

testin' those babies

After realizing the miracle that all of our louvers fit, we attached small labels on each one so that they can be sent to Columbia, SC to get hot-dip galvanized. I feel like a mother bird letting her chics leave the nest. But I think they’re ready.. and I think if they love their mama, they’ll find their way back home to Corrine Jones Park.

kickin those babies out of the nest

enjoy your break,
