So…. what’s up…. it’s been awhile. I know. I apologize for forgetting about you. It’s nothing personal. You’ve just slipped my mind the last couple weeks, but I’m going to make it up to you, I promise. Starting…. NOW!
Spring break was excellent, so refreshing. I had some ME time to do whatever I wanted. Lay out on the hammock in the sun. Go for a run in the middle of the day! Spend time with my mom, who I haven’t seen in way too long. Travel down to Savannah and walk around that beautiful city, then go to a piano bar to sing out like I just don’t care! But now it’s back to caring. There are people in Charleston that need viable vegetable vegetating volume! It’s hard to come up with a successful “v” alliteration, but I felt it necessary to give it a try, after all this is Studio V :0)
Anyways, Studio V’s vertical garden design has come a long, long way since we last spoke. It comes together a little more each day. I have really focused my efforts on the elevations of the wall and how the cable system, which will hold the planters, functions. I had to figure out the spacing along the vertical boards for where the cables would have to lace through. I also made a diagram for how and where we think the structural cables should attach to the wall.
From the many presentations that we held in the weeks before spring break, we were able to gather a lot of valuable feedback from many helpful guests that took time to come out to the studio and see our project. We have been working on making changes and correcting little aspects of the wall here and there. Tomorrow we meet with a structural engineer…. eeek! I hope we pass the inspection! I’m worried about my structural cables….. probably shouldn’t have been in charge of that one 🙂 It will all work out though I’m sure. It HAS to!
