Getting Technical

Today, we will be officially beginning our Construction Document Phase! Now that we received guidance from engineer John, we have a good idea of some structural changes that need to be implemented moving forward. First on the agenda will be to transition to the software Revit so we can work similar to how most architecture firms work. By using Revit, we can all make adjustments to the same file and all stay on the same page.

It is an exciting time and it will be great to dive into the technical side of our design. We will be taking a hard look at each and every detail connection across the structure. With the due dilligence detailing we will do over the next several weeks, we will be well prepared to start construction in the fall.

For Community 1:1 today, we discussed our new book “Out of Architecture” and dissected the profession and our experiences through architecture school and beyond. It was a beautiful day and a very topical and engaging discussion. Beer was great too!
